I Ride Park City.

So seeing as I have not blogged in a while I thought I would throw a little somethin together. Of late I have been lappin PC and doin a little urban on the side. It's been goin really good. With Park City's new jump line and all the snow we have been gettin here in the SLC I've been able to get some work done.
Here is a few shots of my latest urban adventures. All were shot by Mike Biggins Larsen, he is probably the best photographer I know. Be sure to check out his work @bigginsphoto.com and his facebook page.

Aside from shootin urban with Mike, I've been filmin alot with Dan Clayton and Andy Meehan from Colour Films, you can check their stuff out at their website and their facebook page. Here is a rather funny little tease, this was my first switch hit of the day on PC's new 50 footer. Look out for an edit dropin soon!

Trains.

Trains.

A couple of months back, with the help of some investors (Mom and Dad) I was able to purchase a new Canon T2i/550D. Since then I've been trying to learn how to use this new camera, which is less of a camera and more like a baby. As many of you who have used a DSLR know, there are few cameras that can compare to them, however there is a learning curve. So for the past few months I've trying to figure this sweet little toy out, and this is just the next step. I made a little timelapse, which was much harder than I could have ever imagined, but I think it turned out ok. Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think, or if you have any tips that would be awesome too! Thanks!

Korum SLC.

Korum SLC.

The Korum SLC, just went public today. Korum is a flim project started by my good friend Brandon Peterson and myself. It is a way for my friends and I to document the way we live our lives as well as a sport, which we love as much as our lives. We plan on dropin edits on a biweekly basis during this upcoming winter. Edits, which will showcase the skiing talent of not only Bandon and myself, but as many local kids here in the SLC as with ski and flim with us, because as we know skiing is more fun with friends. Anyway keep an eye out for the edits, you can view them on KorumSLC's blog, korumslc.blogspot.com. Also don't forget to add the korum on Twitter @korumSLC. Something I'm super excited about so yeah Look It Up!

Snow? Skis?

Snow? Skis?

The weather is changing, it's getting colder and it won't be long before our favorite white is falling from the sky. During this time of the year most of day is taken up by watching ski flicks, making to do lists for the up coming season, and/or day dreaming about skiing. One of the skiing realted activities I have been doing of late is making various playlists, so I thought I would share one with the few people that follow my blog. It is my hope that it will get you ready for the season...

Blowing up?

Blowing up?

So something happened to me today, that may be the coolest thing to ever happen to me, so I'm gonna blog about it. As many of you know and for those of you that don't, I am a full time student at Salt Lake Community College. Anyway, I was just walking around on campus today, with my Bose tri-cans blasting some Justice, I think, (they are my new favorite) when all of a sudden I feel someone poke me in the back. This of course startled me, seeing as I really dont know many people at my place of education. So I turned around, half expecting to see some random long lost friend or something to that effect, but to my suprise there was some random girl standing there. I don't know why I was so suprised on second thought, I mean girls are always just coming up and talking to me. (said with sarcasim) But yeah anyway she said to me, " Don't Get your Bagel toasted. Right?" To which I replied, yeah you know me? she said, just makin sure. Now she was referring to my season demo for skiing, which I titled "Don't Get Your Bagel Toasted."(see below video) Anyway I would have to say I was quite flattered, and alittle awe struck, I can't believe that people have actually seen my video! It was absolutely awesome. So thank you random girl you made my day and week. So wait, does this mean I'm blowing up?

Backpack.

Backpack.

Every year the Fitts boys take a week long trip to the south slope of the uinta range and go backpacking. Now I won't tell you exactly where we go, but it is in the high unita wilderness area. It's a six or seven mile trek give or take a mile and takes about four hoursish, but it's well worth it. Here are a few pictures from this years trek and a few from last years too...

So as it has already been stated I hate summer. One of the things I love to do during the summer, to pass the time, is reminicse over the past season, while making goals for the upcoming season. One of the coolest things that happened to me this season is a photo shoot I got to do with the one the only Gage Thompson (http://www.gagethompson.com) he is a local Photographer that has done work for, including but not limited to: The Canyons resort, Overstock.com, Skullcandy, and many more. He is extremely talented and I got to shoot with him a few times this year, which was an absolute treat. Here are a few of the shots that day, and i hope to shoot with Gage more this coming year!

Bloc Party Sunday.

Bloc Party Sunday.

So my favorite band of all time is the British Indie band Bloc Party. I remember the first Bloc Party song I ever heard was Helicopter, it was on one of my favorite ski movies Shanghai Six by Level 1 Productions. I now own every thing ever made by them. I'm also super disappointed that they have gone their separate ways and are no longer a band. But yeah they're my favorite and if you've been living under a rock and haven't yet listened to them you should for sure look them up. but yeah here is a few of my favorite songs of theirs of late....

Cabin Fever.

Cabin Fever.

So I had an absoultely banger weekend. and because it was so dope I'm gona blog about it so you all can be jealous. it started friday night, my friend Mike and I at about 11 O'clock at night busted up to our friend Nicole's cabin, just outside of Francis, UT. After having quite an adventure, finding the place we pulled up to the cabin at about one. It was super dope because we were greated by all of TEAM TANARR. (inside joke) once at the cabin we had a super "chill" night with the team. The Dopest thing that happened that night is around 3 we started watching "Cabin Fever" which if youve never seen it, is the most cheesey awesome movie ever! so yeah finally around 6ish we got to bed, just to wake up at nine because Mike had to bust back down to the valley.
After a little nap, I got an invite to go shred my friend Teeerevor's summer setup, which was awesome. It was dope to strap the ol' planks on the ol' feet and get some skiing done. Ive determined that skiing=happiness. So along with my friend "VJ" (his real name is tight pant trever) we bounced up to Teeerevor's house in Heber and we got some grinding done. The setup was way fun and I got some new tricks which was dope too. Can't wait to go back and shred his setup again. Check out the "gay" edit below, sorry it sucks I just was to lazy to try and edit it...
After that TPT( Tight Pant Trever) and I went back to Nicole's cabin and had another SIIIICCCK night playing some adult games (Inside joke), and playing around on the zip line. It was such a sick time trust me, I hope we go back. Anyway yeah and thats about it. Def the sickest weekend Ive had this summer, be Jealous. Special shout out to Nicole, thanks for letting us crash, thanks Trevor for lettin us hit you setup, and finally to TEAM TANARR for the killer party!

Hockey.

Hockey.

Hockey, my first passion. I started playin hockey when I was 4 or 5 years old, I saw the Mighty Ducks movie and wanted to play so bad. So I got my parents to take me Ice Skating, and little did I know, that hockey would come to dominate my life for the next decade. I remember three to four times a week you could find me and my dad at the rink. I love the sport and everything about it. In the past couple of years however I haven't played much, It's kinda taken a back seat to skiing, however that being said I still make time to get out and play some puck.

Also the fact that I'm a stone cold sober Mormon, made this one a little crazy! But all In all it was way sick even without E. Here is some dope footy, and yeah i hope he comes back next year! OH AND WHERE WAS TIM DURTSCHI?

Faith.

Me and Secrist with a Gidro
Faith.

For those that know me, they know that faith is very important to me in my life. To me faith is a belief is something bigger that ones self. For example a belief in God, or a princpal. It is what drives us to want to imporve and be better people. For example, my life's passion skiing, with out faith I would have no desire to become better, to work on a new trick, or to get out of bed early on a Pow day. To have faith is to have purpose.
Faith is also the reason, that I put my life on hold for two years, just over three years ago. I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, yeah thats right I'm a mormon. During this mission I left my family here in america and moved to Africa for two years, more specifically the island of Madagascar. On a mission the missionary is fully engaged in the work at hand, 12hour days 7 days a week. He obstains from television and radio that he might be able to focus on the work. For me this experence helped define who I am, as well as teach me a great deal about the world and my God. I was able to share something that I loved, my beliefs, with a people that I loved which helped me build my faith.
Now I know that there may be people that read this and not have the same beliefs as me, but what ever a persons beliefs, a belief is purpose. So yeah thats a little about me, if you see me around ask me about my mission I love to talk about it. Peace.

Love.

Love.

One of the greatest things to happen to man. For my first post I'm gona get a little artsy/emo, but its a part of who I am so yeah here are some cool/emo quotes that I have found over the years that I really like....

"Real love is a permanently self enlarging experience"
M. Scott Peck

"We are most alive when we are in love"
John Updike

"In courtship you're trying to win the partner, keep the partner, stir up passion. With real love, the behaviors look the same but they arise out of the depth of the relationship and are expressed as a sense of gratitude. They come from within to reflect a state of being rather than to generate emotions"
Harville Hendrix

"The opposite of love is indifference"
Phil McGraw

"To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides"
David viscott

"Love is, above all else, the gift of oneself."
Jean Anouilh
